Our Lady

You just have to love the Notre Dame. Just look at the rose window. Each transept of the church has one. Gorgeous.
It was a foggy day when I walked down to visit the Notre Dame, but when I was about 15 mintues away from it, I started to see it's two towers and I thought "Paris! I'm in Paris!"

Front door(s) and Christmas tree

Side aisle

Southern transept: light and rose window

I hate to interrupt the holiness, gentlemen, but there is some cra-zy stuff going on overhead...

View from the Left Bank (doesn't the church look like it could fly?)

THE CATALYST FOR ME TO QUIT THE TOUR GUIDE BUSINESS:
I SPENT AN EXTRA HALF HOUR PROUDLY EXPOUNDING ON NEWLY LEARNED NOTRE DAME ESOTERICA. AFTER THE CITY TOUR, A MIDDLE-AGED REDNECK ASKED ME HOW TO GET TO "DAT BIG CHURCH".
I GAVE HIM METRO DIRECTIONS AND PATTED MYSELF ON THE BACK FOR INSPIRING HIS CURIOUSITY.
TURNED OUT HE HAD NO INTEREST IN "FLYING BUTTS" NOR "CAR GOILS". HE JUST WANTED TO FIND THE T-SHIRT SOUVENIER SHOP HE HAD SEEN ACROSS THE STREET.
I DECIDED THAT IF I WANTED TO BE REPEATEDLY IGNORED, I WOULD MARRY YOUR MOTHER AND HAVE TWO DAUGHTERS.
I SOON RETURNED TO THE STATES.

Thank you, Dad, for that truly heart-warming and poignant story. Maybe someday you and Redneck could have a reunion on Oprah, and you can thank him for inspiring you to go live the American Dream...

Do you see something, Mon? Hmmm, maybe not. I thought I saw a bunch of all caps gibberish for a second there. Probably nothing. Better to just ignore it....
